North Vancouver offers some of the finest outdoor recreation opportunities in the Lower Mainland. Check out these parks and see if you agree with us!
- North Shore Spirit Trail – a waterfront oriented, multi-use, fully accessible greenway that will eventually traverse the entire North Shore from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove!
- Green Necklace – an urban greenway that forms a 7.5 km scenic loop around the City Center
- Grouse Mountain is home to the famous Grouse Mountain Skyride, a large gondola that whisks you to the top of Grouse Mountain. This popular tourist attraction offers dining, overlooking the City of Vancouver and the ocean, zip lining as well as popular shows including the lumberjack show and Birds of Prey. There are also educational bear and wolf habitats to entertain the young. During the winter months, Grouse is a popular ski resort – not as challenging as Cypress and easier to access.
- Mount Seymour is a lower key ski resort. Trails are easy, making it a popular family destination for those learning how to ski. Summer offers many hiking trials, including the challenging Baden Powell trail which traverses the length of the North Shore.
- Quarry Rock in Deep Cove is a popular hiking destination. Located approximately an hour’s hike north of Deep Cove, Quarry Rock offers a spectacular view over the Cove towards Burnaby Mountain. Deep Cove is a charming seaside village that is worth a visit. Be sure to sample Honey’s Doughnuts, a very well known local delicacy, when you get there!
